Hi again all,
well, the topic title says it all. When I choose a link that requires real player, and an ad comes up, it's not just a pop up ad, it takes you to another site, I think the real guide site, but I'm not sure if that's the same one it goes to everytime. When it comes up, it keeps the audio from playing, but if I hit alt f4 to get it out of my way, it closes real player completely, but if I choose the link that calls for real player, there it is again.so what do you do to get rid of the ad and play the audio? Thanks,
wonderwoman

I use to use real player but found it too complicated. I use winamp.

There's an aplication you can get from www.whitestick.co.uk called Real Alternative. It works well with jaws and has none of those stupid ads. it's a separate aplication so you probably might want to uninstall Real player to avoid conflict.

will it play the same real audio files real player does? I'd like more feedback before making a decision. I usuallybase my final decision on the majority, so how many of you think I should dump real player 10, and download real alternative?

I think you should dump real player 10 and use real alternative. Real alternative can play all realaudio files that real player can play. Also, real alternative is much more accessible than real player.

Real player 10? Dump it! I get ads all the time. Out of nowhere, I get these dialogs that pop up and display ads. Get real alternative. Does real alternative work with sites that need real player? Another program I found to be helpful is win amp.
